Ayuso travels to New York with an agenda focused on attracting new investment from leading global companies to Madrid

The President of the Madrid Region, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, will begin an institutional trip to New York this weekend with a work agenda focused on attracting new investment to the region from leading U.S. companies

The Madrid regional government has spent months preparing for this new visit by the president to the United States.

During her three-day stay in the city, Díaz Ayuso will hold meetings with representatives from nearly a hundred American companies, investment funds and startups, together with the Spain–U.S. Chamber of Commerce. On her sixth official trip to the country, the Madrid president will meet with the global CEO of the payments platform PayPal and with the leadership of Apollo Global Management, the new majority partner of Atlético de Madrid alongside ASC.

The Madrid president will also attend the 25th New York Flamenco Festival, which will feature a performance at City Center by flamenco dancer Sara Baras. In addition, Díaz Ayuso will take part in the annual gala of the newspaper The Algemeiner, where she will receive an award in recognition of her commitment to freedom and to the Jewish people.

The United States is the leading foreign investor in the Madrid Region, with more than €28.3 billion invested since 2019—22.3% of all foreign investment in the region—largely concentrated in the telecommunications sector. The U.S. will be the guest country at the next edition of Hispanidad 2026, organized by the regional government and considered the largest Spanish-language international event. The American resident population in the Community of Madrid continues to grow and has doubled in number since 2011.
