Digital Realty operates in Spain primarily through its subsidiary Digital Realty Spain RE SL, headquartered in Madrid, and concentrates its activity in the region through a four-facility data center campus—MAD1, MAD2, MAD3, and MAD4—located along the region’s eastern technology corridor. Its presence on the Iberian Peninsula is complemented by an additional data center

Madrid has emerged as one of Southern Europe’s leading digital hubs, supported by the infrastructure the company has built around its connectivity ecosystem, cloud interconnection services, and enterprise solutions.

Digital Realty powers its facilities with 100% renewable energy and holds international certifications that attest to the security, quality, and sustainability of its operations, further strengthening Madrid’s position as a prime destination for advanced technology investment.

Digital Realty has developed four flagship data centers in the Madrid Region and recently inaugurated MAD4, the largest of them all. With 35,000 square meters of technical space, up to 32 MW of capacity, and next-generation efficiency and security standards, this facility positions Madrid among the most advanced digital campuses in Europe by delivering high-capacity
solutions for multinational companies, cloud platforms, and digital service providers.

Its four data centers in Madrid handle roughly 65% of the Internet traffic of the Iberian Peninsula, hosting platforms such as Netflix, Disney, IBM, and numerous cloud providers.
