Invest in Madrid supports the event at which the future Pozuelo de Alarcón Conference Centre is presented

Díaz Ayuso presents the future Palacio de Congresos de Pozuelo de Alarcón: ‘The Region of Madrid is open to investment’.
  • The head of the regional government celebrates the fact that the reduction of personal income tax by half a point in all tax brackets and the deflation of taxes has allowed for the collection of 900 million euros more in 2022.
  • The new building will have a capacity of 2,000 spectators to host theatre, dance, musical and sporting events, with parking for more than 500 vehicles.
  • In the vicinity of the new infrastructure, another 15,000 square metres of land will be converted into a new fairground with green areas.

The President of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, today presented the future Congress Centre of Pozuelo de Alarcón. With an investment of 50 million euros, this public-private partnership project will be the most important in the municipality of Pozuelo over the next few years. Díaz Ayuso stressed that the region is ‘cheerful, vibrant, lively and open to investment and to projects with a public service vocation’. ‘We open the doors to innovation, to going further and better, and also to the contrasts between tradition and the avant-garde, where all these projects fit in and everyone counts as one more’, she emphasised.

The head of the regional government celebrated the fact that different independent organisations and agencies rank Madrid as one of the 20 best regions in the world for entrepreneurship, being the first choice among foreign investors in Spain, accounting for 75% of all those who came to Spain in the second quarter of this year.

In his opinion, this is only possible if the administrations think about all citizens, with freedom, low taxes, less bureaucracy, and by demanding the culture of work and things well done. In this regard, he recalled that the last half-point reduction in all income tax brackets and deflation allowed 900 million euros more to be raised in the Community of Madrid in 2022.

‘This is the path we are going to continue to take and the reason why the citizens voted for us in the majority, not to intervene and not to take arbitrary political decisions at the whim of the politician to save a discourse that is shown to be inoperative’, he added.

NEW CONFERENCE CENTRE

Located on land between the old M-508 and M-503 roads, it will have a surface area of almost 18,000 square metres, plus more than 3,000 square metres of open space for holding open-air events. The main building will have a parking area for 550 vehicles, multi-purpose spaces, an exhibition area, rehearsal rooms and two modern auditoriums, designed to be used jointly and independently, up to a capacity of 2,000 spectators.

The versatility of the building, crowned by a unique golden roof, will make it attractive for events of all kinds – conferences, congresses, theatre, concerts, dance, musical or sporting shows – thanks to its capacity to modulate the space according to each specific need. It is foreseen that this new infrastructure will also have a hotel space in the immediate vicinity to cover the accommodation needs of visitors.

At the same time, Pozuelo de Alarcón Town Hall is already working on the construction of a new 15,000 square metre exhibition centre on a plot of land next to the Conference Centre, which has already been fitted out for the last patron saint festivities. Once the work has been completed, a large landscaped public space will be created, which the local residents will be able to enjoy regardless of the specific activities that are held there.
