Founded in San Francisco in 2022 by Winston Weinberg, a former litigation attorney, and Gabriel Pereyra, a former AI researcher at Google DeepMind and Meta, Harvey develops generative AI solutions built specifically for legal and professional workflows. Its platform helps streamline tasks such as contract analysis, due diligence, regulatory compliance, litigation, legal research, and document management, enabling law firms and in-house teams to improve efficiency, accuracy, and decision-making. The company is backed by international investors including Sequoia, Kleiner Perkins, GV, OpenAI Startup Fund, Coatue, Andreessen Horowitz, and EQT, and says it now works with more than 1,000 clients in over 60 countries.
Harvey’s decision to open in Madrid reinforces the region’s position as a European hub for artificial intelligence, advanced professional services, and technology applied to highly regulated industries. The Region of Madrid is home to more than 9,400 companies in the ICT, media, and audiovisual services sector, generating more than €79.8 billion in annual revenue and accounting for 69% of Spain’s total.
