In terms of quality of life, Madrid has positioned itself directly – a year ago it did not appear in the top 10 – in the number two position, only surpassed by the Ille de France region, in which Paris is located. In terms of connectivity, the Community of Madrid jumps from number 10 to third place on the podium.
Investment strategy is another of the variables analysed by the FDI Intelligence group, which is based on reports submitted by investment attraction agencies. Strategies linked to the sustainability, digital transformation and green economy sectors have been decisive in establishing the scores. Here, coinciding with the launch of Invest In Madrid, the Community of Madrid has taken a giant leap forward, appearing for the first time among the top ten regions.
Since the launch of the current Invest In Madrid, the office has focused its strategy of attracting foreign investment in those sectors considered strategic for the socio-economic development of the region, which are in line with the objectives of sustainable development and generate lasting and quality employment.
On the other hand, the city of Madrid has slipped into eighth place in the overall ranking of the ten European cities of the future, thanks to its good performance in some of the areas analysed, such as human capital and lifestyle (sixth place), business friendliness (tenth) and connectivity (fourth).
