- In 2025, Mexico’s total investment in Spain amounted to €825.24 million. The Madrid Region was the leading Spanish region for Mexican investment, receiving €809.11 million.
- Mexican investment in our region is concentrated in three key strategic sectors: the digital/technology sector, industry, and industrial suppliers linked to value chains such as automotive and aerospace.
With these figures, we conclude the economic mission of Invest in Madrid in Mexico, which began on 24 and 25 February in Mexico City and continued on 26 and 27 February in Querétaro, with investment forums and B2B meetings with companies and investors to accelerate opportunities.
Over the course of these days, we had the opportunity not only to present to business leaders and investors the advantages that the Madrid Region offers in terms of taxation, talent and infrastructure, among other assets, but also to meet with entrepreneurs who already have a firm internationalisation project and whom Invest in Madrid will support in carrying out their soft landing in our region.
Indeed, the Madrid Region is increasingly attracting Mexican companies seeking an environment that is favourable to private enterprise and provides unrivalled access to the European market, which is key to the necessary diversification of markets.
During these meetings, we were accompanied by companies that have already chosen Madrid as the destination for their investments and shared the following testimonials:
María Peña Mateos, Economic and Commercial Counsellor at the Economic and Commercial Office of Spain in Mexico, highlighted that “according to data from FDI Markets–ICEX Invest in Spain, between 2023 and 2024 Spain received more greenfield projects from Latin America than the rest of the EU combined, with Mexico leading more than 25% of them (Global Latam 2025). One out of every three of those projects ended up in the Madrid Region.”
Elena Ochoa Ruiz, Director General of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Mexico, stated that “investing also means thinking about how we want to live, and Madrid is a welcoming place. Multicultural and vibrant, the Madrid Region attracts talent from all over the world, making it a meeting point between Europe and Latin America.”
For her part, Gema De la Calle, partner at Mavens, positioned the Madrid Region as the leading strategic jurisdiction for high-net-worth corporate investors in Mexico, ensuring asset protection and wealth diversification.
Jordi Peixó Marco, Head of Multinationals at Santander Mexico, emphasised “how important it is to have a strong banking partner that not only provides services but also guides companies throughout the process and acts as a trusted advisor.”
Carlos Ruiz de Chávez, CEO of Mi-Es, drawing on his personal experience, made it clear that “for Mexicans, Madrid feels familiar. It is not just about investing, but about building wealth and long-term projects.”
Jorge Silva, CEO of Data Evolution, reaffirmed that “the Madrid Region is the gateway to Europe for Mexican capital.”
In short, thanks to the strategic location of the Madrid Region and its strong commitment to innovation, technology and investment, Madrid is fertile ground for the expansion of international businesses and a guarantee for long-term life projects.
In the words of Luis Socías Uribe, CEO of Invest in Madrid: “We are a region open to investment and talent, and Invest in Madrid will help anyone who wants to come here to do so quickly, efficiently and safely.”
