The Madrid Region attracts €1.1 billion in foreign investment through Invest in Madrid, up 23%

The Madrid Region attracted €1.1 billion in foreign direct investment in 2025 through Invest in Madrid, an increase of 23%, consolidating the agency as the regional government’s main instrument for attracting and supporting international projects and foreign capital.

Last year, the agency successfully facilitated 77 confirmed projects, its best performance to date, achieving a 28% conversion rate—almost three times the sector average of 10%. These initiatives will also create 2,094 jobs, 6% more than in the previous year. This means that every euro invested generates a return of €549 for the Madrid economy.

By country of origin, the United States and Argentina top the list, followed by the United Kingdom, France and Germany. In terms of sectors, digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence stand out, accounting for one-third of the total, alongside services, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology. Companies that have chosen the region for their business initiatives include Equinix, Lilly, Rovi, Allianz and ING, as well as firms such as ARRK, Kappa Optronics and French company Hype.

Invest in Madrid also carried out an extensive international outreach programme, including 17 activities in priority markets, the hosting of 31 foreign delegations and more than 1,000 meetings with investors. The agency also organised the second edition of the Madrid Investment Forum, which attracted more than 1,000 attendees, and launched its first advertising campaign outside Spain.

New specialised support unit

A specialised financing support unit will also be launched shortly, providing companies with tools and assistance both in their internationalisation processes and in attracting foreign investment.

Through this new service, Invest in Madrid will provide technical support in accessing European, multilateral and national funds, as well as assisting companies in raising capital through framework agreements with institutions in other countries and advising client companies on the financing instruments available to them.
