The Madrid Region explores new investment and collaboration opportunities with the United Arab Emirates

The Madrid Region is exploring new investment and collaboration opportunities with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to boost the inflow of foreign capital into strategic sectors.

To this end, the Regional Minister for Economy, Finance and Employment, Rocío Albert, held an institutional meeting today with the Emirati ambassador, Saleh Ahmad Alsuwaidi, during which business opportunities were discussed in areas such as energy, technology, finance, and tourism.

Albert presented the services of the regional agency Invest in Madrid as a key tool for providing comprehensive support to companies from the Arabian Peninsula seeking to establish themselves in the Madrid Region. The meeting also made it possible to set a shared agenda to diversify trade relations, taking advantage of Madrid’s growing strength as an international logistics and financial hub. Since 2019, the region has attracted 75.8% of the UAE’s investment in Spain, which exceeds €1.5 billion.
