During his speech, the minister stated that “health sector startups in Madrid are the driving force behind technological innovation in Spain,” and affirmed that “the region already competes among Europe’s top hubs for investment and opportunities thanks to the regional government’s support for entrepreneurship and public-private collaboration in the development of technological solutions.”
López-Valverde noted that the region has established itself as Spain’s leading startup ecosystem, with more than 2,100 active technology companies, many of them linked to the healthcare sector, biotechnology, or Artificial Intelligence (AI) applied to healthcare services. “Digitalization in this field allows us to move toward more personalized, preventive, and efficient care, but also more human-centered,” she stated.
