The region accounts for 20.6% of all companies established in Spain during this period—more than one in five—ahead of Catalonia (2,469) and Andalusia (2,138).
Data published today by the National Statistics Institute (INE) show that the capital subscribed by newly created companies in Madrid reached €119.1 million, representing a +41.9% increase compared to the same month in 2025, accounting for 22.3% of the national total.
In addition, so far this year, the Madrid Region maintains its leading position with the creation of 5,098 new companies, 21% of all those established in Spain, with an average of 86 per day. Growth has reached +19.1% compared to the same period last year, placing it ahead of Catalonia (4,864) and Andalusia (4,056).
The capital subscribed by new Madrid-based companies in the first two months of 2026 amounts to €230.3 million, representing 19.3% of the national total, with an average capitalization of €45,176 per company.
