The Madrid Region once again demonstrated its strength as one of Europe’s leading technology and innovation hubs during a meeting held as part of South Summit 2026, where the Regional Minister for Economy, Finance and Employment, Rocío Albert López-Ibor, met with representatives from foreign companies and startups based in the Madrid Region that are developing cutting-edge projects.
During the meeting, the CEOs and founders of Fossa System, Talentum Gaudium, MiniTales, Recog Analytics, ElevenLabs, Lucai Bio, ARRK, ACTITUD TI, CEMEX Ventures and LILLY ESPAÑA presented their initiatives, growth strategies and the challenges they are addressing in key sectors such as artificial intelligence, biotechnology, applied technology and business innovation.
The Regional Minister congratulated the participating companies on their ability to transform ideas into real solutions and highlighted the Community of Madrid’s commitment to those who create businesses, innovate and generate employment. She also reaffirmed the regional government’s support and stressed that Madrid is a region open to private enterprise, with a dynamic, predictable and secure economy, as well as a competitive tax system that encourages the arrival and development of new business projects.
The Madrid Region consolidates its position as a national and international technology hub
The region concentrates two out of every three euros invested in artificial intelligence in Spain, reflecting an ecosystem prepared to lead the digital transformation. In Madrid, artificial intelligence is understood as a multiplier of human capabilities — a tool to improve processes, boost productivity and create new opportunities for growth.
Furthermore, Madrid stands out for its ability to support the evolution of startups: it is the second European region, only behind Poland, where these companies grow the fastest and where they have the greatest potential to scale up into successful scaleups.
This meeting at South Summit 2026 reinforces the position of the Madrid Region as a leading environment for talent, investment and innovation, where both emerging companies and large corporations find the right conditions to grow and expand internationally.
