The Madrid Region Showcases in Japan Its Strategy to Become a Global Hub for Technology Entrepreneurship

The Madrid Region is showcasing in Japan its strategy to position itself as a global benchmark for startups, entrepreneurs and high-value technology projects, leveraging an ecosystem that combines highly skilled talent with a broad business network, advanced digital infrastructure and a business-friendly environment that supports the creation and growth of new companies

This message was conveyed by the Regional Minister for Economy, Finance and Employment, Rocío Albert, during her visit to STATION-AI in the Japanese city of Nagoya, where she met with representatives of Japan’s innovation ecosystem.

On the fourth day of the institutional visit to Japan, Albert outlined the Community of Madrid’s strengths and the opportunities it offers for Japanese startups seeking to enter the European market. “We offer institutional stability and legal certainty. We do not change the rules of the game halfway through the match because our public policies are well established, predictable and inspire confidence,” the Regional Minister stressed. She also noted that the region is Spain’s leading economic and innovation hub, home to 2,607 technology companies—the highest number in the country—according to the 2026 Regional Report on Tech and Innovative Companies.
