The Regional Minister for Economy, Finance and Employment, Rocío Albert, closed the presentation ceremony of the 15th edition of the event, which, under the slogan AI Convergence, will focus on this technology as one of the main tools for global transformation.
Albert highlighted that AI “is no longer an expectation, but a consolidated reality that is reshaping markets and industries with disruptive agility.” She also recalled that the region leads the implementation of AI in companies with more than ten employees, reaching 30.1%, nine percentage points above the national average.
More than 600 international speakers, including investors, experts, and academics specializing in the different branches of AI, will take part in South Summit, turning Madrid into the global capital of AI and exploring the impact of a technology that already attracts 61% of worldwide venture capital investment.
The event’s contribution to Madrid’s economy is estimated at nearly €42 million and close to 3,800 jobs. For every euro invested, a return of four euros is expected, while each visitor is projected to generate an average of more than €2,000 in economic activity.
