The Madrid Region to Host Siemens’ New Smart Campus with a €160 Million Investment through 2028

The Madrid Region will host Siemens’ new smart campus, a project in which the German multinational will invest €160 million to establish its new headquarters in Spain. Construction is expected to be completed in 2028

The Regional Minister for Economy, Finance and Employment, Rocío Albert, attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the complex, located in the Las Tablas neighbourhood of the capital.

Albert highlighted that projects of this kind “reinforce the Region of Madrid’s leadership as an industrial and technology hub” and position it as “the place to be: an attractive and secure destination for long-term investment.” The regional government has supported the project through Invest in Madrid, the regional office responsible for attracting and supporting international projects and foreign investment.

The future complex will feature 22,000 square metres of office and service space, next to the future Madrid Nuevo Norte development. It will operate using renewable energy, including solar photovoltaic power, and will feature a network of electric vehicle charging points, alongside a comprehensive mobility strategy linked to the area’s transport connections.

The project follows an agreement signed by President Díaz Ayuso in Munich during her official visit to Germany in 2024. Under the agreement, Siemens makes a range of training programmes available to professionals at centres under the regional administration, covering areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and connectivity, as well as internships and employment fairs.
