Dräger establishes its new Iberian headquarters in the Madrid region: German technology reaffirms its confidence in the Spanish capital

On 12 March 2026, the German group Dräger officially inaugurated its new offices in the Campo de las Naciones district of Madrid.

This new headquarters confirms the group’s lasting commitment to the Madrid region and reflects the role the city now plays as a hub for innovation in healthcare and industrial safety in Southern Europe.

Founded in Lübeck in 1889, Dräger is one of the world’s leading providers of medical and safety technology — ventilation devices, personal protective equipment, gas detection systems, and anaesthesia equipment. With a presence in Spain spanning more than forty years, the group has left its former address on Calle Xaudaró to establish itself in the Beloira building, at the heart of a Campo de las Naciones district that already hosts numerous multinationals and major national corporations.

This new headquarters would be poorly described as simply more floor space. Its 750 m² of technical workshops – featuring 27 multi-purpose workstations, a hygienisation room, a high-pressure vessel inspection centre and a weightlessness robot installation unique in Europe – were designed to physically embody the company’s culture. “This building represents a new way of working, one that is more collaborative, more sustainable and more people-centred,” says Dionisio Martínez de Velasco, Managing Director of Dräger Hispania. Technology demonstration areas, customer experience spaces and environments tailored to multigenerational teams complete the setup, a project recognised with the Hábitat de Vanguardia award from the AEICE, which honours outstanding achievements in workplace design.

Madrid, a hub for medtech and industrial safety

Dräger’s decision to choose Madrid over other European capitals was no accident. The region today accounts for 25% of Spain’s leading high and medium-high technology companies, and more than 300,000 jobs in the sector. Being located in this international business district also strengthens the group’s proximity to its direct clients: hospitals, emergency services and high-risk industries, a large share of which operate within the Madrid region itself.

This move is part of a broader trend. Germany is now the fourth largest foreign investor in the Madrid region, with nearly 1,200 German companies present on the territory and more than 64,000 jobs generated. In opening this new headquarters, Dräger sends a message to peers and employees alike: “From Madrid, we will drive solutions that anticipate the future challenges of health and safety, always aligned with our global mission: protecting life in every critical environment“.
