We interviewed Mariano Ruiz de Chávez, Chief Financial Officer of MiEs Deal Club.
- 1.- What is the main objective of MiEs and what does the company do?
MiEs is a Deal Club with predominantly Mexican capital focused on identifying, developing and managing investment opportunities in the Spanish real estate sector. Our goal is to create value-added projects, well executed and oriented toward addressing real needs of the local market. - 2.- Why is MiEs being so successful?
MiEs focuses on creating housing for local demand. We are very aware of the current housing deficit, which is why we develop projects designed for residents and families in the area, with local teams and solutions adapted to the environment.
This, combined with serious, transparent and rigorous work, has allowed MiEs to be well received by partners, authorities and collaborators in Spain. - 3.- What will it mean for the Madrid Region to have a company like yours?
With our team of architects —Pesquera and Díez (Spain) and CMAS (Mexico)— we aim to create projects that provide architectural and urban value, with a long-term vision.
Our goal is also to generate economic impact, employment and projects that integrate harmoniously into the neighborhoods where we operate, respecting their identity and enhancing the quality of the surroundings. - 4.- What goals are you pursuing with your expansion strategy?
Our expansion strategy is based on three pillars: - Consolidating current projects, ensuring their correct execution and their contribution to the housing market.
- Expanding our portfolio with value-added opportunities in areas with economic and demographic dynamism.
- Establishing a sustainable presence that enables MiEs to operate continuously, solidly, and with an increasingly integrated team in Spain.
In the medium term, we aim to become a key player in the housing segment and in projects that contribute to urban development. - 5.- Why did you choose the Madrid Region as one of your key locations?
For us, Madrid is a natural step. It is a solid market, with reliable institutions, a dynamic economy and a business ecosystem that facilitates investment and entrepreneurship.
In addition, the city offers a high quality of life, international connectivity and a stable legal framework, which makes it an ideal environment for long-term real estate projects. - 6.- What expectations do you have regarding your launch in our region?
MiEs’ projects are medium and long term, so our expectation is to establish a lasting presence, generate sustainable partnerships and maintain an active presence in the region.
We want to build a strong track record in Madrid, strengthen our network of collaborators and contribute positively to urban development. - 7.- How has your collaboration with Invest in Madrid been, and how has it helped you?
Our collaboration with Invest in Madrid has been essential. They have provided us with key information for decision-making, connected us with strategic players in the ecosystem and helped us better understand the regulatory and operational framework of the region.
Their support has been an important accelerator for our establishment in the market. - 8.- How many jobs do you expect to create in Madrid in the short and medium term, and what types of profiles do you need?
In the short term, we expect to generate between 60 and 80 direct jobs and over 170 indirect ones, mainly in architecture, construction, project management and real estate operations.
In the medium term, as our portfolio grows, we estimate that the figure could double, with jobs related to operations, construction coordination, marketing and professional services. - 9.- What would you recommend to other foreign investors who are considering launching their business in Madrid?
Madrid is an ideal place to invest and start a business: dynamic, safe and with a business community open to collaboration.
