Reconcept chooses Madrid to launch its expansion in Spain

The German group Reconcept has set up its Spanish subsidiary, Reconcept Iberia SL, and opened an office in the Madrid region

There, the company is launching its first solar and battery storage developments, with a priority focus on the most energy-intensive industrial environments, particularly data centers.

The German developer Reconcept has formally entered the Spanish market through the creation of Reconcept Iberia SL and the opening of an office in Madrid. With this move, the group is establishing a local base from which to launch its first photovoltaic and BESS projects in Spain.

The strategy is clear. Reconcept intends to develop projects in the immediate vicinity of the most energy-hungry industrial sites, with particular attention to data centers. The group also plans BESS projects integrated into the transmission grid, while several initial sites have already been identified and are currently under development.

A logic of execution

This location choice responds to a simple reality of the Spanish market: development cannot be managed from a distance. Site identification, grid connection issues, relations with local partners and proximity to industrial demand all make local presence a condition of efficiency.

In a sector where decisions are made quickly around land, grid access, industrial use cases and project structuring, having a Madrid-based platform changes the scale. Reconcept’s move is therefore not just a signal of presence: it creates a real capacity to develop projects.

Madrid in the equation

The choice of the Madrid region is not incidental. For a foreign company in the process of establishing itself, it offers both an administrative anchor, quick access to specialized partners and an effective base from which to coordinate development across Spain. Content published around Madrid’s attractiveness also highlights its connectivity with Germany, the competitiveness of certain operating costs and the existence of a pool of qualified, multilingual talent.

This matters even more in sectors where projects combine engineering, financing, regulatory frameworks and industrial outlets. In that context, Madrid is less about “projecting influence” than about bringing together the different building blocks of development.

A Spanish market in motion

Reconcept’s arrival comes at a favourable time for solar and storage players. Spain is seeing a steady rise in BESS projects, particularly systems hybridized with photovoltaic assets, confirming both the depth of the market and the evolving needs of the power system.

At this stage, Reconcept’s announcement remains focused on an establishment and a clear sectoral direction, without detailing investment volume, the number of jobs created or capacity targets. Even so, it is enough to show that a German developer is choosing to enter Spain with a direct presence and a strategy already built around initial projects.
