“We invite you to enjoy all the good things Madrid has in store,” emphasised Díaz Ayuso at a meeting with executives and representatives of Spanish companies in the Belgian capital, reminding them of upcoming events such as the visit of His Holiness the Pope, the Formula 1 Grand Prix, Eurobasket 2029, and the NFL, amongst others.
“Or it could also be the Casa de la Hispanidad, where the United States is this year’s guest country,” added the head of the regional government, who pointed out that the sister nations with which Spain shares centuries of history “must also look to the future, with a view to remaining united”, in the face of a break with liberal democracies or “when anti-Semitism, racism and destruction are promoted”.
