The President of the Region of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, presented Madrid Tech Week (European Technology Week) at the Real Casa de Correos, the headquarters of the regional government. The event brings together experts, companies, startups, universities, and leading organizations from the technology sector. In her view, gatherings like this symbolize the power of public-private collaboration to strategically position Madrid “at the forefront of national and international technological innovation.”
As President Díaz Ayuso explained, Madrid Tech Show —the country’s largest technology fair— takes place as part of Madrid Tech Week. Opening tomorrow at IFEMA, it will host more than 25,000 attendees, 350 speakers, and 470 participating companies. The fair will showcase the latest solutions in cloud computing, cybersecurity, big data, Artificial Intelligence (AI), data centers, eCommerce, and digital marketing, among other areas.
The head of the regional government recalled that the Community of Madrid accounts for 44% of all technology events held in Spain and leads Europe in strategic areas such as 5G, AI, and digital transformation. It also attracts 85% of Spain’s technological investment. “One out of every four new high-tech companies chooses Madrid to generate a large share of the sector’s qualified jobs and to strengthen this vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem that continues to grow. That is why today we are the digital hub of southern Europe,” she emphasized.
