Founded in Mexico in 2017, Commando Studio has consolidated its position in its home market with 27 locations and a team of approximately 700 employees. In 2025, the company chose Spain to begin its internationalisation process, establishing its first two locations in Madrid, on Velázquez and Marqués de la Ensenada streets.
Following its first year of adapting to the Spanish market, the company has accelerated its expansion. In July 2026, it opened its third Madrid location at the Caleido complex on Paseo de la Castellana, and plans to open a fourth centre in Azca at the end of November. With this new opening, Commando Studio will close 2026 with four operational locations in Madrid, while also strengthening its presence in Spain through the acquisition of Lapso Studios in Barcelona.
An investment of up to €30 million to grow in Spain
The company’s arrival in Madrid is also supported by partnerships with Spanish entrepreneurs such as Borja Vázquez, co-founder of Scalpers; Fernando Nicolás, co-founder of Larrumba Group; and Fernando Vidaurre, founder of construction company VDR.
Madrid plays a central role in the company’s strategy, with Commando Studio opting for highly visible locations that serve as showcases for the brand. From this base, the company plans to open ten new centres in Spain in 2027, with a combined estimated investment of between €25 million and €30 million. Its roadmap also includes future openings in cities such as Málaga, Seville and Valencia.
Madrid as a platform for international expansion
The choice of Madrid reflects both cultural and linguistic affinity and the opportunities offered by the Spanish market to validate and scale its business model. Once its operations in Spain have been consolidated, the company plans to use its presence in the country as a base for further international expansion.
Commando Studio’s journey thus highlights Madrid’s role not only as a destination for Mexican corporate investment, but also as a platform for the international growth of Latin American companies.
