The envisioned partnerships between Mexico and the Madrid region span key areas such as education, culture, economic development, and social welfare. In the field of education, the Madrid region stands out for its highly competitive system, with universities and business schools ranked among the most prestigious in the world. It also leads the national talent ranking prepared by the COTEC Foundation and IVIE.
Culturally, the Madrid region is a global powerhouse, home to world-renowned museums such as the Prado and Reina Sofía, UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Alcalá de Henares, Aranjuez, the Monastery and Royal Site of El Escorial, and the Landscape of Light in the capital, as well as historic theaters and a vibrant arts scene.
From an economic standpoint, the Madrid region has led Spain’s economic growth over the past three decades. This trend continued in 2023, and forecasts for 2024 and 2025 point to regional GDP growth surpassing the national average. Additionally, the region has become a major hub for foreign investment: over the past five years, it has received an average of €19.979 billion annually in gross Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) inflows and hosts 15,548 foreign-capital companies, representing 43.5% of the national total.
For entrepreneurs from Durango and for Mexican companies and investors aiming to promote foreign investment in Europe, the Madrid region is an unbeatable choice.
