The 15th edition of South Summit, focused on artificial intelligence, has opened its doors with more than 2,000 investors, over 600 international speakers, and nearly 20,000 attendees.
As part of the event, which has once again positioned the Region of Madrid as a global hub for entrepreneurship and innovation, and which has revolved around the theme “AI Convergence”, we held our traditional “Pitch Competition” at the Region of Madrid stand, where 11 companies had the opportunity to present their projects to potential investors and to a jury made up of: Helena Collado, Digital Transformation & Innovation at Mutua Madrileña; Stephane Kokshoorn, Investment Associate, Founder at The Venture City; and Ignacio Cid, Investment Manager at Invest in Madrid.
The participants were: Francisco Calise from Einsted.bio; Paulina Ruiz, Founder & CEO of ALARA; Jhonatan Díaz from Vit Sensors; Gonzalo Yrigoyen, Co-Founder & COO of Excuela; Joaquin Ortiz, CEO & Co-founder of LUCAI Bio; Grzegorz Knapczyk, Co-founder of Hexjobs.com; Andrés García-Contreras from Poontoz Communities; Solange De Santis, CEO & Founder of Airglow; María de Lourdes Borba, Founder and CEO of Dairy Tech; Olga Isakova from Whimsly; and Carmen Marín from Local Secrets. These founders and CEOs were able to present their projects and share, first-hand, the stage they are currently at.
Furthermore, also as part of the 15th edition of South Summit, we organised “Why Madrid is Becoming Europe’s Talent Magnet”, a round table focused on international talent, featuring renowned professionals such as Peter McCardle, Managing Director of Tenth Revolution Group’s; Pablo Delgado, Associate Partner at Strategic Gears; Rocío Schettini, Chief Executive of the UAM Foundation; and Pilar Martínez, MiM & MiF Admissions Associate Director at IESE Business School.
The event, which highlighted the Region of Madrid’s constant ability to adapt and bring together the talent of creators, entrepreneurs, investors, and experienced professionals, was moderated by Diego de Arístegui, Director of Investments at Invest in Madrid.
