The event brought together companies visiting our region as part of international delegations attending South Summit, alongside representatives from the Madrid Regional Government’s Directorates-General for Self-Employment, Entrepreneurship and Digital Strategy, as well as Invest in Madrid.
During the event, we discussed the support available to entrepreneurs and start-ups in the Madrid Region and highlighted the advantages of our region as a leading destination for foreign investment. The Madrid Region is the economic engine and gateway connecting Latin America and Southern Europe, home to more than 15,500 foreign-owned companies from 110 countries.
The event featured distinguished speakers, including Miguel López-Valverde Argüeso, Counsellor of Digitalization, Madrid Region; Luis Socías Uribe, Managing Director of Invest in Madrid; Nacho Mateo, CEO of South Summit; Nikolay Yordanov, General Director for Self Employment and Entrepreneurship, Madrid Region; Ignacio Azorín, General Director for Digital Strategy, Madrid Region; and Diego De Arístegui Laborde, Investment Director, Invest in Madrid.
The 15th edition of South Summit Madrid will transform the Spanish capital into a meeting point for more than 2,000 investors and over 600 international speakers, further strengthening its position as one of Europe’s leading forums for artificial intelligence (AI), entrepreneurship and innovation.
According to PwC, South Summit Madrid 2026 will generate nearly €42 million in economic activity for the city, representing a 10% increase compared to 2025.
The event’s impact will also be reflected in employment, with an estimated contribution of 3,798 monthly equivalent jobs, a 13% increase year-on-year. This figure includes direct, indirect and induced effects, consolidating South Summit’s role as one of the key economic drivers of the Spanish capital.
