The Invest in Madrid delegation, made up of Diego De Arístegui Laborde, Investment Director at Invest in Madrid, and Ana Lucas, Investment Manager at Invest in Madrid, held a meeting with Germany Trade & Invest (GTAI), Germany’s official economic development and investment promotion agency, with the aim of exchanging knowledge, analysing bilateral economic relations and exploring potential areas of collaboration between both institutions.
The meeting was also attended by Lucinio Muñoz, Economic Attaché at the Spanish Embassy in Berlin, and, on behalf of GTAI, Markus Wiencke, Director – Investor Support Services; Benita Morgan, Senior Manager – Investor Support Services; and Alexander Walter, Senior Manager – Investor Support Services.
During the meeting, discussions focused on foreign investment attraction, strategies to support international companies and opportunities for cooperation between Madrid and Germany.
GTAI, an organisation under the German Federal Government with headquarters in Berlin, plays a key role in promoting Germany’s economy by supporting foreign companies interested in establishing operations in the country and providing specialised information on markets, regulations, taxation, customs and business opportunities.
This collaboration represents a meeting point between two agencies with shared objectives: promoting business internationalisation, facilitating the arrival of new investment projects and strengthening economic ties between both territories.
Madrid, a strategic destination for aerospace investment
Invest in Madrid’s agenda in Berlin also included attendance at ILA Berlin, one of the world’s leading aerospace exhibitions and Germany’s flagship event for the sector.
The exhibition brings together leading companies, governments, armed forces, space agencies and research centres involved in commercial aviation, the space industry, defence and security, drones, autonomous systems and advanced aerospace technologies.
The event featured major international players in the sector, including companies such as Airbus, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Rheinmetall and the European Space Agency (ESA), making ILA Berlin a key meeting point for innovation, industrial cooperation and the generation of new business opportunities.
As part of the exhibition, the Invest in Madrid team held meetings with potential German and international investors from the aerospace sector, with the aim of presenting the main assets of the Madrid Region and positioning the region as a strategic location for the development of new business projects.
Madrid has a highly competitive aerospace ecosystem, based on a combination of specialised talent, industrial capabilities, technology centres, advanced infrastructure and a strategic location that facilitates connections with European and international markets.
Participation in ILA Berlin reinforces Invest in Madrid’s commitment to high value-added sectors and consolidates the Community of Madrid’s strategy to attract foreign investment, foster innovation and encourage international companies to establish operations in the region.
