The president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, is making her first institutional trip to Chile since taking office.
Chile is one of the countries in Hispanic America considered strategic in terms of attracting foreign investment, within the framework of the 2023-2027 strategy followed by the Community of Madrid.
55.8% of all Chilean investment in Spain is registered in Madrid.
The president of the Community of Madrid participated in several business meetings during her institutional trip to Chile, such as those held at the Sociedad de Fomento Fabril-SOFOFA, at the Spanish Stadium of Las Condes, and at the law firm Barros&Errauriz. The tour ended with a visit to the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Chile.
Meanwhile, Invest in Madrid organized various multisectoral business meetings, in which its CEO, Luis Socías, was able to present the Sales Notebook of the region, which highlights the assets offered to investors.
We are two countries in Hispanic America linked by cultural and historical ties. To highlight some data on the importance of Chile in our region, more than 13,100 people born in this country live among us, and more than 100 companies of Chilean capital are present in Madrid, with a turnover of €707 million and providing employment to more than 1,050 people. Conversely, large Spanish companies, including Acciona, Ferrovial, and Santander, are present in Chilean lands. In addition, Chilean investments grow in our region year after year. Since we have data, 55.8% of the total Chilean foreign investment in Spain has been registered in our Community.
