The Madrid Region and Mexican Companies Strengthen Their Cooperation Through the New Mexico–Spain Audiovisual Development Space

The Madrid Region strengthened its ties with the Mexican audiovisual sector in November 2025 with the launch of the first edition of the Mexico–Spain Development Space for the Audiovisual Industries

This program is designed to boost joint projects, promote co-production, and enhance collaboration between companies from both countries.

The initiative, organized in collaboration with the Casa de México Foundation in Spain and held on November 11 and 12 in Madrid, is part of the cooperation agreement signed on October 13, 2025, between both institutions. The agreement aims to promote cultural, business, and creative exchange between Mexico and the Madrid Region, positioning the region as a strategic hub for the Spanish-speaking audiovisual industry.

During the event, various Mexican production companies and organizations participated actively, most notably the Morelia Film Commission, whose presence underscored the Mexican sector’s interest in strengthening ties with studios, companies, and professionals based in Madrid. Its participation helped explore opportunities for co-production and technical collaboration, as well as open new pathways for joint work with Madrid’s audiovisual ecosystem, one of the most dynamic in Europe.

This development space represents a significant step towards strengthening the presence of Mexican companies in Madrid and fostering the bilateral growth of the audiovisual sector. In addition, it contributes to the region’s international positioning, as it continues to consolidate itself as a creative hub and an environment conducive to innovation, investment, and the development of high-impact cultural and business projects.
