The South District and Henares Corridor will focus on logistics, transport, aerospace and defence, and will feature a one-stop shop for businesses, tailored training programmes, and collaborative networks involving public authorities, clusters and universities.
The Regional Minister for Economy, Finance and Employment, Rocío Albert, visited Renault Trucks’ new facilities in Getafe, where she highlighted that projects of this kind not only have a direct economic impact but also “generate a ripple effect across the entire productive fabric”.
The French commercial vehicle manufacturer has made a significant investment in the new complex, which will bring together its training centre, headquarters, financial services unit and the new Truck Center for central Spain within a 25,000-square-metre site, with capacity for around 200 employees.
Albert praised the commitment of multinational companies such as Renault Trucks, which continue to invest in the region and place their trust in its highly skilled workforce. She stressed that the regional government’s objective is to ensure that businesses see Madrid as “a place to invest” and as a partner that “supports them” throughout their growth.
The Madrid Region is Spain’s leading automotive market in both vehicle sales and after-sales services, generating annual revenues of nearly €35 billion, equivalent to 30.3% of the national total, and providing more than 55,500 direct jobs. In manufacturing, the sector exceeded €10.86 billion in turnover in 2024, representing 11.1% of the national total, with 142 active companies and nearly 17,000 employees.
