The Regional Minister for Economy, Finance and Employment, Rocío Albert, highlighted the region’s leading position in this area during the second day of her institutional visit to Japan, at a meeting with the president of the government agency JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization), Susumu Kataoka, aimed at strengthening economic cooperation between Madrid and Japan.
“Japan is a strategic partner for the Madrid Region, and we want to continue strengthening ties with its companies and institutions so that more companies from the Asian country find in our region a competitive, stable environment prepared to develop innovative projects,” Albert stressed.
Previously, the minister visited the headquarters of EBARA Corporation, a company specialising in pumping solutions, precision machinery and industrial infrastructure, which inaugurated a new factory in Pinto last April. The visit aimed to highlight the regional government’s commitment to high value-added productive sectors and the economic development of municipalities in the south of the region.
There, she emphasised that the Madrid Region is an open, competitive and safe region for international investors, where multinational companies from around the world find the talent, infrastructure and favourable regulatory environment needed to undertake major projects.
Finally, the Madrid minister held an institutional meeting with representatives of the Embassy of Spain in Japan, at the Ambassador’s Residence. In addition to the host, Íñigo de Palacio, the meeting was attended by the head of Spain’s Economic and Commercial Office in Tokyo, Gonzalo Ramos.
