Albert made these remarks during a discussion on the book La culpa es nuestra by Professor of Business Organization Benito Arruñada, held at the Ateneo de Madrid, where the structural challenges facing Spain were analyzed.
In this regard, Albert emphasized that the regional government is responding to these challenges “with policies that treat citizens as adults, not as fiscal minors,” thereby advocating for a system based on low taxes and the removal of bureaucratic obstacles. Thanks to this approach, he stressed, the Madrid Region has become the country’s main economic engine, supported by 3% growth in 2025—two tenths above the national average—contributing 19.8% of GDP.
