The Regional Minister for Digitalization of the Madrid Region, Miguel López-Valverde, has underlined the importance of public-private collaboration to attract technological investment that “accelerates the transformation of public services” and ensures that companies and citizens can “benefit from the opportunities generated by digitalization.” As López-Valverde pointed out, this is already taking place in projects such as Madrid Innovation District (MID), an initiative in which the regional government is collaborating alongside Real Madrid Club de Fútbol.
During the 4th edition of the Madrid Leaders Fórum, organized by Confederación Empresarial de Madrid (CEIM), the minister explained that MID fits within the regional government’s strategy focused on promoting digital public services and strengthening the business ecosystem. The regional government estimates that the initiative will generate nearly 25,000 skilled jobs and attract €8.5 billion in foreign investment in order to “encourage the creation and retention of talent,” enabling young people to “find the opportunities they are looking for and the best international professionals to choose Madrid as a place to live and work,” he concluded.
