The Madrid Region Highlights the Role of the Biopharmaceutical Sector in Addressing Aging and Frailty

The Regional Minister of Health of the Madrid Region, Fátima Matute, today underscored the role of the biopharmaceutical sector as a “strategic ally” in tackling challenges such as aging, chronic conditions, and frailty. Matute took part in the inauguration of the new headquarters of the multinational company Johnson & Johnson in Pozuelo de Alarcón.

“A dynamic, strong and thriving biopharmaceutical sector is synonymous with health, well-being and prosperity,” the Regional Minister stated, noting that the region is home to 400 pharmaceutical companies, with a turnover of close to €5.1 billion, accounting for 26% of the national total.

“We are not talking about cold, isolated figures. Each of them represents an opportunity to continue improving treatments, therapies and research,” she concluded.
