This was highlighted by the Regional Minister for Digitalization, Miguel López-Valverde, at the opening of the Digitaliza Week AI conference, taking place until May 7 at the Digitaliza Madrid Innovation Center. In his speech, he stated that “AI is no longer a promise of the future, but a tangible reality that is transforming economies, sectors, and public administrations at an unprecedented pace,” and noted that the region’s leadership in this field “is the result of a dynamic ecosystem, strong public-private collaboration, and a clear focus on bringing technology from the lab into the real world.”
The event, organized in collaboration with the Community of Madrid’s Artificial Intelligence Cluster, will bring together companies, startups, industry leaders, and investors over three days to advance the application of this technology and develop solutions that generate economic impact. The regional government already has key projects in this area, such as the Technical Office for the Promotion of AI and support programs, training, and funding to facilitate the use of this technology in SMEs, into which it has so far invested €9.9 million. In addition, it has launched more than 100 AI use cases within the public administration, helping to streamline and improve public services for Madrid residents.
