The event, held at the regional government’s stand, was attended by the Deputy Minister for Culture, Tourism and Sport, Luis Martín Izquierdo, together with representatives of the business association Noche Madrid. During his speech, the Deputy Minister highlighted that “behind the fun associated with Madrid’s nightlife there is rigorous, professional work, aimed at ensuring that the public only has to worry about enjoying a safe, high-quality night out.”
The guide, produced in collaboration with Noche Madrid, offers a comprehensive and up-to-date overview of the region’s nightlife scene, making information easily accessible to both visitors and tourism intermediaries. Its publication helps strengthen Madrid’s international profile as a benchmark for nightlife and urban tourism in its main source markets. In fact, alongside cities such as Berlin and London, Madrid ranks among the most highly rated European capitals in this field, according to sector studies presented at international trade fairs such as FITUR, ITB and World Travel Market.
Nightlife is also a strategic segment within the tourism model of the Madrid region, both because of the variety and quality of its offering and its contribution to economic activity and employment. In this context, and in line with the 2023–26 Tourism Strategy, the regional government is promoting this segment internationally in collaboration with the business sector, with particular focus on priority European markets such as London, Paris, Milan and Berlin.
International visitors over the age of 25 account for the greatest economic impact of nightlife in the region, generating 68.4% of total spending, with an average outlay of around €120 per night. This profile places particular value on shows, cocktail bars and premium experiences, as well as new leisure formats such as tardeo (late-afternoon socializing).
The world’s best nightlife
In addition, for the third consecutive year, Madrid has been recognized as the destination with the best nightlife in the world, according to the opinions of international tourism marketing professionals who take part in the annual study conducted by Noche Madrid among foreign experts attending FITUR.
In the 2025 edition, Madrid tops the ranking with 65.1%, followed by Ibiza (38.4%), Berlin (27.9%), Barcelona (25.6%) and Amsterdam (23.3%), which completes the Top 5 alongside Las Vegas, tied in fifth place.
Among the factors most highly valued by tourism professionals are the safety of Madrid’s nightlife and venues (54.7%), the price of admission and drinks (44.2%), the music offering, ease of access to different nightlife areas, and the availability of night-time public transport (39.5%).
