U.S. tech firm Iveda selects Madrid for its first European operations center

Madrid is continuing to strengthen its position as one of Europe’s leading destinations for technology investment following the decision by U.S. company Iveda to establish its first European operations center in the capital.

The company, which trades on Nasdaq under the ticker IVDA, announced on February 10 the launch of Iveda Spain in Madrid as a hub to serve growing European demand for smart city solutions, advanced video surveillance, and critical infrastructure technologies. Iveda described the move as a strategic step in its international expansion, alongside its existing operations in the United States, Taiwan, the Philippines, and Egypt.

Founded in Arizona and focused since 2005 on video intelligence, smart sensors, and Internet of Things technologies, Iveda has built a specialty in AI-powered solutions for security, urban management, and asset monitoring. Its core offerings include IvedaAI, focused on advanced video analytics; Cerebro, its IoT platform for smart environments; and IvedaCare, designed for safety, energy efficiency, and remote monitoring.

According to the company, its entry into Madrid is driven by the need to conduct field deployments, provide localized support, and work with European partners on large-scale projects across both the public and private sectors.
Iveda also said its Madrid team is already pursuing multiple opportunities with some of Europe’s leading systems integrators and managed service providers, with potential applications in municipal operations, commercial environments, and public safety. The announcement comes just weeks after the company launched a new intelligent traffic management module and at a time when it has highlighted the strong projected growth of the European smart cities market, along with rising demand for secure solutions aligned with the standards of Western public-sector institutions.

Iveda’s arrival also coincides with a broader regional push toward digital transformation and the rollout of artificial intelligence and data management initiatives across the Madrid Region. In recent months, the regional government has advanced projects in this area with companies such as Cloudera, including the announcement of an advanced data and AI lab for the public sector, and AWS, through artificial intelligence training programs tied to digital talent development.

The opening of this European operations center further reinforces Madrid’s appeal for U.S. technology companies seeking a stable, well-connected platform with the ability to scale across Europe and neighboring markets. Beyond the corporate investment itself, moves like Iveda’s help strengthen Madrid’s advanced innovation ecosystem, where foreign capital, digital transformation, and new solutions for smarter cities and infrastructure increasingly come together.
