Today, we can confidently say that choosing Madrid as our location was undoubtedly the right decision.
Since launching our Services Center in May 2022, growth has been steady in terms of both talent and investment. We currently have more than 230 professionals and continue on a path of sustained growth, reflecting the Group’s confidence in our ability to operate successfully from Madrid, providing services both to the headquarters in Switzerland and to other subsidiaries.
From Technology Center to Multidisciplinary Hub
Our project initially began with a clear technological focus, centered on areas such as IT, ERP, SaaS, infrastructure, collaboration, cybersecurity, and data. During the first few years, growth was primarily driven by these functions.
However, our evolution has been both natural and strategic. Today, the center also integrates non-technology areas such as billing, financial controlling, treasury, legal, human resources, and procurement. In fact, these disciplines are where we expect to see the highest growth rates in the coming years.
This expansion has transformed our positioning: we are no longer solely an operational IT center, but a comprehensive hub where talent is developed and enhanced efficiently and sustainably, in service of the Group’s strategic objectives. All of this is supported by a distinct culture aligned with corporate values, yet characterized by its own identity and dynamism.
Growth Focused on Talent Consolidation
Our goal is to grow our internal workforce by an additional 15%, reaching approximately 260 employees by year-end. However, quantitative growth is not our only objective.
We firmly believe that consolidation is achieved through continuous training, the creation of internal opportunities, and the development of those who have been part of the project from the very beginning. This approach has enabled us to build increasingly autonomous teams, with local leadership, decision-making capacity, and active participation in strategy. Ultimately, we have strengthened the trust of our internal clients and reinforced Madrid’s strategic position within the Group.

Throughout this journey, the support of Axpo Iberia has been decisive. With more than 20 years of experience in the Spanish market, its expertise, reputation, and credibility within the organization have been instrumental in the development and consolidation of Axpo Services EMEA in Madrid.
Having this starting point allowed us to build on a solid foundation and leverage a track record of success already recognized within the Group.

The initial challenge was clear: earning the trust of the entire organization. It has been a process that required patience, resilience, and determination. This would, in fact, be our main recommendation for any foreign company considering establishing operations in Madrid under circumstances similar to ours: with a highly qualified and committed team, consolidation is simply a matter of time.
