Chancerygate, the largest urban logistics real estate developer and asset manager in the UK, opens its office on Paseo de la Castellana in Madrid and appoints Felipe Lainez as Director of Development for Spain with a view to expanding into Europe.

Founded in 1995, Chancerygate is now the leading asset manager and multi-tenant industrial real estate developer in the UK. Its activities include real estate promotion, investment, project development, and asset management for the urban logistics and industrial storage segment.

They have all the necessary services to fully develop the promotion process and manage their fund assets in all commercial aspects of the real estate sector.

With offices in London, Warrington, Birmingham, Bristol, and now Madrid, Chancerygate’s recent establishment in Spain represents a strategic move to bring its experience and innovative approach to the dynamic Spanish market.

Chancerygate manages over €450 million in assets across more than 465,000 m2 of commercial space, comprising over 480 units throughout the UK.

In addition to its new offices in Madrid, the company also has offices in London, Warrington, Birmingham, and Bristol.

Felipe Lainez, Director of Development for Spain, will drive Chancerygate’s expansion throughout Spain by seeking and formalizing development opportunities, starting with cities such as Barcelona, Valencia, Madrid, Malaga, and Bilbao.

Felipe Lainez will work alongside Chancerygate’s Managing Director in London, Richard Bains, European Director Jason Sharman, and European Manager Alex Houghton.

“I am working closely with Jason and Alex to introduce Chancerygate in Spain and achieve our ultimate goal: to become the most sought-after urban logistics developer in the country,” says Felipe Lainez.

Chancerygate’s European Director, Jason Sharman, commented:

“Both the hiring of Lainez and the opening of our office in Madrid are a statement of our intention to accelerate our growth plans in Europe,” Sharman continues.

And why Madrid?

Madrid is an important business hub with headquarters and corporate offices of numerous companies, both local and international, with unparalleled connections, accompanied by constant economic growth.

The infrastructure and connections, both nationally and internationally, allow us to efficiently monitor ongoing projects and report to our investors. Similarly, the main commercial agencies have central offices in Madrid, which is an incentive for our expansion plans.

What job creation forecast do you have in the short and medium term?

Currently, we have several projects in the study phase in the Community of Madrid, mainly in the most industrial areas. It is difficult to estimate the total number of jobs generated, but it is not a small number, considering both the indirect jobs during the project development phase (demolition, construction, auxiliary services, etc.) and the direct ones that will eventually occupy the projects developed by Chancerygate.

How has the relationship been with Invest in Madrid?

Very positive, since the announcement of the opening of our office in Madrid, they quickly contacted us to see how they could collaborate with Chancerygate. We have already had some initial meetings, and we perceive a clear willingness to help companies establish themselves in the Community of Madrid.
